The radar image (left) shows the "radar reflectivity" in the lowest kilometer of the atmosphere over the displayed region, with higher reflectivity indicating a higher amount of particles such as rain and cloud vapor in the atmosphere. The radar itself (right) is located on Orchard Hill, on the University of Massachusetts/Amherst campus.
